Power, New and Renewable Energy Minister RK Singh said that the Government has brought transformation in the Power sector by adding 142 GW generation capacity. He said, steps have been taken to connect the entire country into one grid and achieve the vision of one grid, one market. He was speaking at National Energy Conservation Day at Vigyan Bhawan in New today. On this occasion, Mr. Singh presented 31st National Energy Conservation Awards and 1st National Energy Efficiency Innovation Awards.
The Minister said, India has transformed from an energy deficit to an energy surplus nation. He said, India has made significant progress in village electrification and providing electricity connections to households in recent years. He said, the availability of Power in rural and urban areas has increased tremendously in comparison to year 2014.
