Indian Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal has said that India is on track to achieve the export target as the country registered 300 billion dollars in exports in the first nine months of this fiscal year. India has set an export target of 400 billion dollar. While interacting with media in New Delhi, Mr. Goyal said, India recorded highest ever goods exports of over 37 billion dollar in the country’s history in last month which is 37 per cent more in comparison to exports made in December 2020.
He said, India witnessed 179 billion dollar services exports in first nine months. He expressed hope that services exports will go up to 230 billion dollar. He said, exports of 103 billion dollars have been seen in the last three months. He lauded the efforts of exporters saying that the resolution taken by the exporters has been fulfilled even in adverse circumstances.
Criticizing the export policies of the previous Congress-led government, Mr. Goyal said, when the UPA was in power, imports from China had increased by more than thousand per cent during 2004 to 2014. He said, the present government has brought that down considerably.
