Information & Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur said his ministry disseminates information on Government policies, programmes, initiatives, and achievements in English and various Indian languages. In a written reply in the Lok Sabha, he said, through Press Information Bureau (PIB), Bureau of Outreach and Communication (BOC), Doordarshan, and All India Radio (AIR) using various media vehicles like print, electronic media, social media, internet websites, outdoor publicity, live arts and interpersonal media for information dissemination.
He also said a fortnightly publication, New India Samachar reaches up to gram panchayat level with information on new programmes and policies of the Government. Mr. Thakur said e-version of New India Samachar is sent to over Six crore readers in 13 languages via emails.
